Discount Ordering

Steel Toe Books offers our titles to bookstores at 40% off the retail price.  To obtain this discount, a minimum of five books must be ordered.  For our $12 titles, bookstores will pay $7.20 a copy.  Educators who are ordering books in bulk for their classes may also qualify for a discount. We DO NOT accept credit cards. Prepayment (by check or money order) is required for all purchases, bulk or otherwise, made directly through Steel Toe Books. Payments should be made out to Steel Toe Books and mailed with information on where the books should be shipped to Tom C. Hunley, Director, Steel Toe Books, 300 Whispering Hills Blvd. Bowling Green, KY 42101. We can send you an invoice by e-mail or regular mail either before or after receiving payment; just let us know your preference.

All orders placed through Steel Toe Books must be made at least two weeks in advance of when they are needed to ensure timely delivery through standard delivery methods. That means that we should receive your check two weeks before you need the books. If your deadline is much sooner than that, say for a reading, we urge you to make arrangements with our authors directly to sell their copies on consignment. If you order books directly from us, we will cover the shipping costs for regular delivery and accept returns of up to ten books. You are responsible for the actual additional mailing costs of expedited delivery. If books are returned, you are responsible for the return shipping costs.

We can sometime accommodate a quicker shipping turn around if we have your books in stock and you pay the cost of flat rate priority mail. Be sure to check with Ralaina about whether this applies to the book title(s) you wish to order. Orders of five or six books can usually be mailed in a flat rate envelope for $5.15, and quite a large quantity of books can fit in a medium flat rate box for $11.35.

Bookstores can also order our titles at a discount from Ingram, Baker & Taylor, or Nacscorp
(a wholesaler that works with college bookstores). The discount probably won't be quite as good as what we offer, and orders made through these wholesalers are not returnable.
